Dr. Anwar, a senior manager of General Motors has been an ardent volunteer of Bangla School of Music for many years. He is a music enthusiast, writer, poet and editor since early life. With him writing always takes precedence over any leisure activity since childhood. He served as magazine secretary of Bangladesh Engineering University Teachers’ Association in 1995-1996 where he edited association magazines and other periodicals. He published his own poetry book “Shukhe Nirbashone” limited edition in 2002. He has edited several books and booklets for Bangla School of Music among which student song book “Chondotoru” (Rhymes of the Tree) published in 2016 by Power House Production, “Geetimala” (a Parade of Musical Joy) published in 2018 and “Baul” (School’s introductory booklet) are notable.
